The Mizuno Bettinardi Black Carbon Series feature an innovative Feel Impact Technology Face (F.I.T. Face). The Mizuno Bettinardi BC3 is precision milled from one piece of pure carbon steel for ultra consistency and a uniquely milled face reduces the surface area of where the ball makes contact with the putter face by 70%, delivering extremely solid feel to every putt. The Black Carbon Series also features a lush black chrome finish.
As Robert J Bettinardi explains “I like to experiment with different metals to see what variety of sensations we can create at impact. But even with the carbon steel that is perfect for the shapes and sizes liked by our tour players, we could never get anything as soft as the inserts many of the guys have grown up with. I knew that if we could give them the same soft feel, but in a precision milled head we would have an extremely popular putter.
“We came up with the idea of removing some of the material from the hitting zone and came up with the waffle effect you can see on the F.I.T Face. It’s not an insert, but a specialized milled section of the face that allows just 30% of the material to contact the ball. The feel is sensational, but because it is actually a special one-piece milled face you won’t find anything that delivers more solid or consistent contact.”
